Grow Theory started as internal software for a working medical aesthetics practice — built to fix that practice's own problems, and still run there every day.
Where it came from
A practice management system is built for the clinical record. It's very good at that, and it was never meant to be good at anything else. So around it grows the usual sediment: a clinic cell phone for texts, someone's inbox for inquiries, a spreadsheet for people who want to be told when a slot opens, and a whiteboard for who to call back.
Every piece of that is a place a patient can be dropped. Not through anyone's carelessness — it's just what happens when six systems don't talk to each other and the front desk has four people standing at it.
We built Grow Theory to sit on top of the EMR and join that work up: one thread per patient, a calendar that writes to the EMR rather than beside it, and a waitlist that fills a cancellation without anyone having to remember who wanted it.
